Paltò
Over time, coats increasingly became to be regarded as something precious to be preserved through the years, and to purchase one was an event involving entire families.
The usage of the Italian word “paltò” traces back to the XIX century: at that time, when good manners were still a core value, the term indicated the ideal garment that protected from the cold.
Moreover, they soon became a means to enhance both the masculine and the feminine figure, a symbol of exclusive elegance. The image of the “paletot” has not taken on only a formal and refined nuance, though.
